The Little House

The Little House is divided into two parts. It is possible to take La Buanderie separately from La Boulangerie but, if you would like both please talk to us…

La Buanderie - Large double bed (160cm) and one single bed (90cm) with en suite bathroom

La Boulangerie Two or three single (90cm) beds or one double bed (180cm) + one single bed with en suite contemporary wet-room.

The Little House provides independent accommodation for up to six people in comfort and style. In olden days it was here that the bread was baked for everyone who worked on the estate and what is now the kitchen was the laundry for the main house. The original bread oven has been kept and repaired with traditional materials as a star feature of the property. The property was completely renovated between 2006-2007. Comfort and warmth are ensured with the modern insulation, up-to-the minute electric central heating and a hot water system with the added benefit of solar panels. The intrinsic style of the building has been well guarded and enhanced with contemporary design features. Antique furniture, original paintings, carpets and lighting add to this luxurious space. Television, DVD, Internet Wifi and Network socket available. A wide choice of books and CDs is available in the main house.

La Buanderie is a self-contained two-floor apartment with a kitchen, sitting area, bedroom (sleeps three) and bathroom. The kitchen/living room has east facing French doors and a patio with a view to the swimming pool and the fields beyond. Gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher and plenty of storage space…

Washing machine, dryer and a further WC and washbasin are accessed separately.

The staircase of local pine with glazed panels leads to an innovative mezzanine sitting area with large picture window overlooking the park. Antique camel cushions provide a cosy spot to sit and watch the red squirrels and the many birds continuing their lives unaware of your presence….

The beautiful bedroom of some thirty-seven square metres has a high ceiling with impressive traditional beams. Decorated in shades of green, this serene, calm and spacious room with both antique and modern lighting, a rare Chinese carpet depicting the seasons and antique furniture of both French and English origin offers a tranquil space to relax. There is ample room for the large double(160cm) and single (90cm) beds as well as sofa and arm chairs: Egyptian cotton bedding and feather pillows and duvets add to the luxury. The room faces south with views to the courtyard and has outside access via a delightful stone staircase. Large double doors lead to the luxurious Starck design en suite bathroom with east facing windows, modern lighting and with plenty of fluffy towels! Bath with hand held Grohe shower and taps, washbasin and WC; separate shower (120cm x 80cm).

La Boulangerie A south facing ground floor bedroom with independent access, suitable for up to three people. A spacious bedroom of some thirty three square metres which is decorated in rich terracotta tones, highlighting traditional features - beams and natural stonework. Antique furniture, copper pots, original paintings and a wonderful modern Kelim carpet bring warmth and luxury to this former bake house. The room can either be set up with two single beds (90cm) and a third bed as a wonderfully relaxing day bed, or should there be three of you, we shall make this one up for you too.
