Other things to do At Sengresse

There is much to visit and see…local heritage sites, with their bastides & churches …unspoilt villages with markets and cafés where you can sit and listen to the general chatter… The Atlantic surf and the coast (forty five minutes) ….or the spa town of Dax with its hot springs and thermal baths (thirty five minutes). Bordeaux is less than two hours drive away with its world heritage sites, history, wine, wonderful shops and restaurants. Travel south to visit other jewels - Pau, Bayonne, Biarritz and St Jean de Luz…or why not take a trip over the border to Spain: all about one and a half hours away.

The immediate area provides plenty of opportunity for walking, cycling or riding along empty lanes, woodland paths, riverbanks and even the old railway route from St Sever to Dax, transformed for this very purpose. Fishing can be arranged on the river or the lakes at Nerbis – also a good place to spot egrets, herons and all size and manner of water birds. A visit to Arjuzanx ( ) between mid October and mid March also offers an opportunity to observe the impressive Common Crane - the migration of the bird to and from these parts has always alerted the locals to the passing of the seasons and given an indication of the season ahead. Golf at Mont-de-Marsan and Moliets.
